What is WeSound?
WeSound is an app and website to request songs from a live DJ and support them with a tip. Scan the DJ's QR code, pick your song and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. The tip is only charged if the DJ accepts your request.
For guests
How do I request a song from the DJ?
Scan the DJ's QR code with your phone camera. Their page opens in your browser: search for the song by title or artist, add a dedication if you like, choose your tip and pay.
Do I need to download the app to request a song?
No. Everything happens in your phone's browser, with no account. The app lets you follow your request and know when it plays.
Does the DJ have to play my song?
No. The DJ decides what plays in their set and accepts or declines each request. That's why the tip is only charged if they accept it.
Can I request several songs?
Yes, with a limit on active requests with the same DJ at once. Once one is resolved, you can make another.
Can I add a dedication?
Yes, it's optional. We check every dedication before it reaches the booth, and some words aren't allowed.
Tips and payments
How much do you tip a DJ?
You choose from four levels that start from the DJ's minimum tip for the event. If no minimum is set, they're €4, €6, €10 and €16. These are the default amounts, not a recommendation.
When is the tip charged?
When the DJ accepts your request. Until then it's held on your card. If they decline or time runs out, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
Are there surcharges or service fees?
No. You pay exactly the tip you choose. WeSound's fee comes out of what the DJ receives.
What if the DJ accepts my song but it never plays?
Tell us in the app with "The song didn't play". We look into it and, if you're right, we refund you. The app shows how long you have to let us know.
How can I pay?
With Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. Payments are processed by Stripe.
For DJs
I'm a DJ. How much does WeSound cost?
Signing up is free. WeSound keeps 15% of each accepted tip and 85% is yours. For example, from a €10 tip, €1.50 goes to WeSound and €8.50 to the DJ.
How do I get my QR code?
It's in the WeSound app as soon as you sign up. Show it in the booth or share the link to your page.
How do I receive my tips?
Set up how you get paid in the app, with Stripe verification, and tips from accepted requests go to your bank account. Until you're verified, what you receive may be held and there's a cap on tips per night.
Can I set a minimum tip?
Yes. You set it for each event, and the tip levels guests see start from that minimum.
Account and app
What is the WeSound app for?
For guests, it's for following your requests: it tells you when the DJ accepts or declines them and when they play. For DJs, it's where they have their QR code, create events and handle requests.
How do I sign in?
With Apple, with Google or with a code we email you. If you requested a song on the web, you can save it to your account with a link or a code.
Do I have to give my email?
No. It's optional, and it's for your receipt and to save the request to your account.
