You pay the tip you choose

Guests pay nothing but their tip. DJs sign up for free and WeSound keeps 15% of each accepted tip.

Updated

At dawn after the party, a DJ in his fifties sits on a flight case looking at the tips he accepted that night on his phone.

How much does WeSound cost?

WeSound is an app and website to request songs from a live DJ and support them with a tip. For guests it's free: you pay exactly the tip you choose, with no surcharges, and it's only charged if the DJ accepts your request. For DJs, signing up is free and WeSound keeps 15% of each accepted tip.

Tip levels

How much do you tip a DJ with WeSound?

Guests choose from four levels. Each one multiplies the minimum tip the DJ sets for the event. If the DJ sets no minimum, the base is €4.

LevelTimes the minimumNo minimum set€10 minimum (example)
A little thanksx1€4€10
Good tipx1.5€6€15
Big tipx2.5€10€25
Legendx4€16€40

The €10 column is an example. Each DJ sets their own minimum for each event.

Split

How much of each tip does the DJ get?

85% of each accepted tip goes to the DJ. The other 15% is WeSound's fee.

Accepted tip (example)WeSound (15%)For the DJ (85%)
€4€0.60€3.40
€6€0.90€5.10
€10€1.50€8.50
€16€2.40€13.60

Example amounts. What the DJ receives is adjusted if a tip has to be refunded.

Are there surcharges for guests?

No. If you choose a €6 tip, €6 is held and, if the DJ accepts, you're charged €6. No service fees are added at the end and there's no extra for paying by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

WeSound's fee comes out of the tip the DJ receives, not out of your pocket. That's why the amount you see when you pay is the amount that's charged.

Questions about charges and refunds

When is my tip charged?

When the DJ accepts your request. When you pay, the tip is held on your card. If the DJ declines or the time to answer runs out, the hold is released and you pay nothing.

What's the hold I see on my card?

It's your tip set aside while the DJ decides. It isn't a charge: if the DJ doesn't accept your request, it's released.

What if the DJ accepts but the song never plays?

Tell us in the app with "The song didn't play". We look into it and, if you're right, we refund you. The app shows how long you have to let us know.

Can I tip less than the minimum?

No. The lowest level is the minimum tip the DJ has set for that event, or €4 if they haven't set one.

Does the DJ pay anything if they decline a request?

No. WeSound only keeps its 15% of the tips the DJ accepts.
