Request your song without leaving the dance floor

With the music at full volume, shouting at the DJ doesn't work. Scanning their QR code does.

A crowded club dance floor with the DJ booth behind and phones in the air.

The trouble with requesting in a club

WeSound is an app and website to request songs from a live DJ and support them with a tip. Where it shows most is a packed club: the booth is far away, there's security or a barrier in front and the volume makes talking impossible. Whoever reaches the booth interrupts the DJ mid-mix, and the request ends up as something the DJ half heard.

With the DJ's QR code, you request from wherever you are. The request arrives in the DJ's app in writing, with the song, your dedication if you add one and the tip. The DJ checks it when it suits them, without stopping the mix.

How do I request a song from the DJ in a club?

  1. Find the DJ's QR code

It's usually in the booth or on a screen. Scan it with your phone's camera.

  2. Pick the song

Search by title or artist. Add a dedication for your group if you like.

  3. Pick a tip

Pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. It's held until the DJ accepts.

  4. Stay on the dance floor

With the app, you'll be told when the DJ accepts or declines and when it plays.

How the DJ uses it on a club night

The DJ keeps control of the set from start to finish.

  • A minimum for the night

They set the event's minimum tip. The four tip levels are worked out from that minimum.

  • Accept what fits

If the song suits the moment on the floor, they accept it. If not, they decline and nothing is charged.

  • Mark it when it plays

When the song plays they tap “Played”. If it isn't marked in time, the request is cancelled and the guest gets the tip back.

  • Paid to their account

Tips from accepted requests go to their bank account. WeSound keeps 15%.

If the venue wants to help

WeSound has no product of its own for venues and no venue dashboard: everything runs on the DJ's QR code. What a venue can do is encourage its DJs to use it and put their QR code where people can see it, in the booth, on the screens or on the bar.

Questions about clubs

Does tipping guarantee my song will play?

No. The DJ decides what plays. That's why the tip is only charged if they accept your request, and if they accept it and it doesn't play, you can tell us in the app; we'll look into it and, if you're right, refund you.

Can I make several requests in a row?

Yes, up to a limit of active requests at once with the same DJ. That way the queue doesn't fill up with one person's requests.

Do I need an account to request?

No. You request from the browser. Email is optional: it's for the receipt and for saving the request to your account if you want to follow it in the app later.

The next song is yours

Look for the DJ's QR code in the booth. And if you DJ in clubs, get the app and make your own.

Coming to your phone very soon

The app is about to land on the App Store and Google Play.

You don't need it to request a song: scan the DJ's QR code and do it right in your browser.
