# We build WeSound to support DJs

We want the crowd to request their song without walking up to the booth, and the DJ to get a tip for playing it.

## What WeSound is

WeSound is an app and website to request songs from a live DJ and support them with a tip.

Here's how it works: the DJ shows their QR code in the booth, you scan it with your phone's camera and their page opens in your browser. Search for the song, add a dedication if you like, pick your tip and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. Nothing to install and no account to create.

Your request reaches the booth with the song, the dedication and the amount. The DJ accepts or declines it with one tap, whenever it suits them and without stopping the mix.

## Why it exists

Requesting a song at a set usually means walking up to the booth, shouting over the music or handing over a scrap of paper. The DJ has to deal with you mid-mix, and the tip, if there is one, is cash, handed over any old way.

WeSound brings some order to that moment. The crowd gets a simple way to say what they want to hear and to say thanks. The DJ gets every request in one place, decides what goes into the set and is paid the tips from the requests they accept straight to their account.

It isn't about taking control away from the DJ. It's a way to support your DJs.

## What we believe

These are the rules the product is built on, and you can see them in how it works.

- **The DJ decides.** Nothing makes it into the set unless the DJ accepts it. They know the room and choose what plays and when.
- **Only charged if the DJ accepts.** When you request, the tip is held on your card. If the DJ declines or time runs out, it's released and you pay nothing.
- **Respectful dedications.** We check every dedication before it reaches the booth, and some words aren't allowed. DJs agree not to accept offensive requests.
- **Requesting should be easy.** No app and no account: scan, pick and pay the way you always do. Email is optional: it's for the receipt and to save the request to your account.

## Who's behind it

WeSound is a product of POLARGATE, S.L. (tax ID B24895005), a company based at Calle Electrónica 6, 28027 Madrid, Spain. It's designed and built by Polargate (polargate.ai).

Payments are processed by Stripe, and song search uses the Spotify catalogue, with attribution. WeSound isn't a bank: payments are handled by an external provider.

The website is wesound.pro. The iOS and Android app is in review on the App Store and Google Play; in the meantime, you request songs right in your browser.
